Body Found in Search for Missing Yeovil Man Michael Wheeler
A body has been discovered in the search for Michael Wheeler, who went missing in Yeovil a month ago. Avon and Somerset Police located the body at a property in Yarlington, near Wincanton, Somerset, on Wednesday afternoon.
This discovery follows the court appearance of four men at Yeovil Magistrates' Court, who have been charged with Wheeler's murder. His family has been informed of the tragic development and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
Police have now launched a detailed forensic examination of the property, where crime scene investigators are working to gather further evidence.
A fifth man, arrested last week in connection with the case, has been rearrested and remains in police custody. The four men charged with murder have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.
Additionally, two more men were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of assisting an offender. One remains in custody, while the other has been released under investigation. Meanwhile, a man arrested on suspicion of murder earlier this week and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender are both out on police bail as the investigation continues.
