Christmas Festivities Begin Early in Yeovil as Quicksilver Hosts Its First Party of the Season

Despite it being only November 17th, the festive spirit has arrived in Yeovil as Christmas parties officially get underway. Pete Lamden, Yeovil’s longest-serving landlord, has announced that his establishment, the Quicksilver Public House, will host its first Christmas party of the year tonight.

Lamden, a familiar face in the town’s hospitality scene, expressed his excitement about kicking off the holiday celebrations early.

“We’ve seen an appetite for early festivities this year,” he said. “People are eager to come together, celebrate, and make up for the quieter Christmases of the past. Tonight is all about bringing that joy and sparkle back to Yeovil.”

The Quicksilver has been a staple in the local community for decades, and Lamden is renowned for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere during the holiday season. This year’s early party promises a mix of festive food.

Community Reaction

While some residents find it unusual to start celebrating Christmas so early, many are embracing the opportunity.

“Why not start the festivities early?” said regular patron Sarah Martin. “, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. Pete always knows how to throw a great party!”

Others see the early start as a boost for local businesses. With Christmas shopping underway, events like this bring footfall to the area, benefiting not only the pub but also surrounding shops and eateries.

“Christmas is a time for community, and that’s what we’re all about,” said Lamden. “We’re here to make sure everyone in Yeovil has a chance to celebrate in style.”

As the lights go up and the music plays, it’s clear that Yeovil is ready to embrace the holiday cheer—even if it’s a little earlier than usual.
