Police Investigation at Ham Hill Near Yeovil Concludes as Search for Missing Man Continues
A police investigation at Ham Hill, near Yeovil, has come to an end, with authorities continuing their search for a local man, Michael Wheeler, who has been missing since August. The 37-year-old from Yeovil was last seen on Saturday, 24 August, and Avon and Somerset Police have raised serious concerns for his welfare.
The search at Ham Hill, along with additional investigations at Stoke sub Hamdon and addresses in Yeovil and Crewkerne, was part of the ongoing efforts to locate Wheeler. His car was found abandoned in the town, but he has not been in contact with family or friends since his disappearance. Police have also noted that he missed several regular appointments and failed to appear in court for a motoring offence, leading to him being circulated as wanted.
In a public appeal, Avon and Somerset Police stated:
"We’re appealing for help to trace Michael Wheeler, 37, of Yeovil, after serious concerns for his welfare were raised on Monday, 16 September. Officers have been unable to find Michael to check on him, and it seems he has not been home or in contact with anyone since 24 August."
Wheeler is described as white, male, and approximately 6ft tall. Police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
“If you have seen or heard from Michael since Saturday, 24 August, or have any information about his whereabouts, we want to hear from you,” a police spokesperson said.
Authorities continue to appeal to the public to assist in the search as they remain concerned for Wheeler's safety.
