Jay Smith 19 Year Old From Yeovil Kicked Police Officer In The Testicles Whilst Shouting F@ck Off You Little C@nt!
A 19-year-old Yeovil man has admitted to assaulting a police officer during a drunken disturbance at Yeovil District Hospital. Jay Smith, of Lower Fairmead Road, was difficult and abusive towards hospital staff, and his behaviour escalated when police were called to the scene.
Appearing before District Judge Angela Brereton at Yeovil Magistrates' Court, Smith pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker and to a public order offence.
Prosecutor Ben Winzer said that Smith had become increasingly agitated while at the hospital, even banging his head. When police arrived to deal with the situation, he continued to be verbally abusive. Handcuffed for his disruptive behaviour, Smith shouted expletives at the officers, including, "F*** off you little c***."

As the officers tried to restrain him further, Smith kicked one of them in the groin, causing significant pain that lasted throughout the day.
In court, it was revealed that Smith had since written a letter of apology to the officer for his actions. District Judge Brereton highlighted the seriousness of the offence, noting that Smith had been drinking and that the incident occurred in a hospital setting where professionals were trying to do their jobs.
Despite the severity of the situation, the judge acknowledged Smith’s lack of previous convictions and his remorse. She sentenced him to a 12-month community order, including a 30-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, fined him £75, and ordered him to pay £275 in compensation to the injured officer.
