Rumours of Oasis Playing at Glastonbury 2025 and Reopening Yeovil's Octagon Quashed
Rumours have been swirling around Yeovil and beyond that the iconic rock band Oasis might be headlining Glastonbury in 2025. However, these claims have been firmly denied by the band. Adding to the local buzz, an even more unlikely rumour suggested that Oasis would be reopening Yeovil's Octagon Theatre once its renovation is complete. This rumor, too, has been quashed.

Sion Lewis, a music agent with close industry ties, spoke to Yeovil Real News about the speculation. "When I heard the rumours, I couldn’t stop laughing," he said. "It’s just not happening. Oasis won’t be playing at Glastonbury in 2025, and they definitely won’t be reopening the Octagon in Yeovil."
The Octagon Theatre, currently closed for refurbishment, is a beloved venue in Yeovil, but Lewis made it clear that residents hoping to see a major band like Oasis will need to look elsewhere. "For anyone hoping to catch them live, Cardiff will be your best bet for a nearby venue," he added.

As excitement continues to build for the Octagon’s reopening, it’s clear that local residents are eager for big-name acts to grace Yeovil. However, it looks like they’ll have to wait a bit longer for that dream to come true.
