Stonewater Housing ' RAT OUT' On Promise To Yeovil Residents

Stonewater Housing Association Fails to Deliver on Promises to Rowan Way Residents

Stonewater Housing Association is under fire from residents of Rowan Way after failing to fulfill their promises to clear a rat-infested, overgrown strip of land. Despite assurances five weeks ago that the problem would be addressed, the situation remains unresolved, with conditions worsening for the community.

Residents have reported an alarming increase in rat activity, with large rats chasing children in the area. The overgrown land, which has seen garden fences weakened and at risk of collapse, remains neglected despite repeated complaints. The overgrowth has now reached approximately 7 feet tall, exacerbating the problem.

The issue first came to light when Yeovil Real News contacted Stonewater Housing Association. At the time, it appeared the association was unaware they owned the land. Upon realizing their oversight, Stonewater acknowledged that the maintenance department had "overlooked" the property and promised to eradicate the issue.

However, residents are now expressing frustration and concern, as no action has been taken. One resident shared their distress with Yeovil Real News, stating, "The rat situation has only gotten worse. I caught 13 rats overnight with traps. The overgrowth is out of control and it's affecting our daily lives."

The failure to address the problem has left many residents feeling neglected and unsafe in their own homes. The community is calling on Stonewater to take immediate action to fulfill their promises and ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.

As the situation continues to deteriorate, residents are urging Stonewater Housing Association to prioritize the clearance of the overgrown land and implement effective pest control measures. The community remains hopeful that their concerns will be addressed promptly and that Stonewater will live up to their commitments.

For now, the residents of Rowan Way are left to deal with the consequences of the unchecked overgrowth and rat infestation, waiting for Stonewater Housing Association to take the necessary steps to rectify the situation.
