In a statement, a spokesperson for Stonewater Housing Association writes:

' A Stonewater colleague visited the area on Thursday and was able to confirm thal the small area of land does belong to Stonewater and it has been inadvertently missed from our scheduled grounds maintenance plan. We have amended the plan and our maintenance partners have committed to visit the area urgently to address the issues. While our team found no evidence of pests while on site, we have arranged for our

pest control contractor to attend to inspect the area as soon as possible. We have also increased the frequency of our maintenance inspections of the area monthly, and our customer experience team will continue to be in close contact with
Stonewater customers to ensure these issues are resolved.'

Stonewater Housing has pledged to clear the area as quickly as possible, ensuring it is safe and well-maintained for residents. The maintenance team will address the overgrown vegetation, eradicate any rat infestation.

Local residents have expressed relief at the housing association's swift response. One resident commented, "It's reassuring to see that Stonewater is taking action. The situation was becoming unbearable, especially for the children. We're hopeful that these measures will improve our living conditions significantly."

Stonewater Housing Association has urged residents to report any further maintenance issues promptly to prevent similar situations from arising in the future. They have also committed to enhancing their regular maintenance schedules to ensure all areas are adequately serviced.
