While patrolling the area, officers spotted two people riding the bike on a main road. The riders failed to stop for the police, prompting a pursuit.

According to a spokesman for the South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing Team, "Fortunately, officers were able to catch up with the riders and subsequently arrested a male for various driving offences, including driving while under the influence of an illegal substance and assaulting an emergency worker."

The motorcycle was seized for being ridden on a public road without insurance. Additionally, another male has been reported for permitting the use of a motor vehicle without insurance.
