The Liberal Democrats have pledged to hold the Government “accountable” following today’s Autumn Budget announcement, emphasizing that the new NHS funding must deliver real results for local communities. They call for this funding to lead to more accessible GP and dentist appointments and quicker cancer treatment, while highlighting the ongoing, unresolved issues within social care.

Adam Dance MP said:
“I’m glad to see some funding allocated for social care in this Budget, but it barely scratches the surface. Meeting the care needs of Somerset residents requires a significant increase in both funding and workforce.
"The Liberal Democrats have consistently urged the Government to initiate cross-party talks to address the social care crisis. Fixing social care is vital for easing the strain on our health services, and the best solutions will come through collaborative efforts. We cannot keep delaying this—action is essential now.”
