Yeovil Resident Turns Road Vigilante to Patrol Town
A Yeovil resident, who prefers to go by the name "Victor Meldrew" for safety reasons, has taken it upon himself to become the town’s road vigilante. Frustrated with what he perceives as a decline in good driving standards in Yeovil, "Meldrew" contacted Yeovil Real News to announce his intentions.
The vigilante, whose real identity remains anonymous due to concerns about backlash on social media, expressed deep disappointment with the current state of driving in the area. He claims that a lack of enforcement and general disregard for road safety have pushed him to take matters into his own hands.
"I'm fed up with the way people drive in this town," "Meldrew" told Yeovil Real News. "Every day, I see people speeding, ignoring traffic signs, and putting others at risk. It's about time someone stood up and did something about it."
Equipped with a dashcam and a commitment to reporting reckless drivers, "Meldrew" plans to patrol the streets of Yeovil, documenting violations and sharing the evidence with local authorities. He hopes that his efforts will help curb dangerous driving and encourage others to be more mindful on the road.

While some residents may view his actions as controversial, "Meldrew" believes that taking a stand is necessary for the safety of the community. "If the authorities won't take action, then someone has to. I'm not looking to cause trouble, just to make Yeovil's roads safer for everyone," he said.
As "Victor Meldrew" begins his self-appointed mission, the impact of his road patrols remains to be seen. Whether he will be embraced as a local hero or face further backlash is uncertain, but one thing is clear: Yeovil's drivers may want to think twice before flouting the rules.
Victor released two videos today of what he regards as poor driving and caught one driver of a Mini with no tax.
