Parents Demand Transparency as Yeovil's Holy Trinity School Refuses to Name Finance Manager

Holy Trinity Church School in Yeovil is facing growing scrutiny from parents and the media over its refusal to disclose the identity of its finance manager. Despite multiple inquiries, the school has declined to provide any information about the individual responsible for its financial management or allow access to that person.

Parents have expressed frustration over the school’s lack of transparency, questioning why such a critical role is being shielded from public view. Efforts to engage with school officials on the matter have so far been met with resistance.

In response to the ongoing inquiries, the religious school issued an email.

“Thank you for your e-mail to Holy Trinity Church School. Please note allegations of this nature should be reported direct to Avon and Somerset Police.”

The Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust, which oversees Holy Trinity, has also been drawn into the controversy. The trust’s mission, guided by the biblical principle of "life in all its fullness" (John 10:10), emphasises accountability and community values. However, its silence on this matter has left parents questioning whether those principles are being upheld.

Community Concern Over Accountability

Parents have raised concerns not only about the lack of information but also about what the secrecy might imply about the school’s financial governance. "We just want to understand who is managing our children’s school funds and ensure there’s transparency," said one parent, who asked to remain anonymous.

Holy Trinity Church School, known for its religious ethos, serves as a pillar of the local community. However, this controversy risks eroding trust among parents, particularly in light of the school’s refusal to address questions directly.

Next Steps

Parents and community members are now calling on the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust to intervene and provide clarity. As tensions mount, some parents are reportedly considering escalating the matter through formal complaints, whilst the media have sent another email to the school, requesting who the finance manager actually is.

'Thank you for your reply, although it doesn’t state if ******* is the Finance Manager of your school. Simple question then: Who is the Finance Manager for your school?

As for the advice on the police, naturally our investigations dossier will be handed to them, when we have located the correct facts and person.'

The school has yet to issue further comments beyond its initial response, directing concerns to Avon and Somerset Police. It remains unclear what, if any, allegations have been made to necessitate such action.

Meanwhile both parents and Yeovil residents are becoming very suspicious of why the school appears to wish to hide who their finance manager is.

The mother, who tried to call the finance manager and was denied an email address, this week, told YRN ' It's all very strange, and now they talk about allegations and the police! What are they hiding?  All I wanted was some basic information and speak or communicate with the finance manager and it's led to all this, something is odd very odd'
