THE MAJORITY OF YEOVIL TOWN FC FANS WANT OWNER MARTIN HELLIER OUT OF THE CLUB AFTER JUST 12 MONTHS
Polls held on social media are showing that the loyal fans of Yeovil Town Football Club want current owner Martin Hellier to leave.
The club, that was promoted from the lowly National League South last season again appears to be in a financial crisis, with reports of small and large debts, as low as £52k.
Meanwhile club manager, Mark Cooper, has been informing players, the owner has cash problems and he can't offer them new contracts or pay up their existing contracts.
Two contracted players, Will Buse and Jordan Maguire Drew, have been thrown out of the first team squad and forced to train with the U18's outfit, in an attempt to drive them out of the club, without having to pay up their contracts, both being informed of the cash crisis.
Meanwhile, Cooper wants to re-sign Jordan Stevens, who is still playing for the club in pre-season, despite not having a contract, but at present can't be signed due to the financial issues.
Despite promises from the Board, summer signings to the club have been bleak and of not the quality desired by the Manager, who stated at the end of last season, after reaching promotion, he required at least 6 National League experienced players to enter the National League Premier, these established players, have not been signed by the club.
As for the current owner and Chairman, his first twelve months at the helm have been courted in contravisory.
Hellier has been embroiled in battles with supporters, with loyal supporters of the club being banned from the ground and restricted from access to the clubs official media outlets, with the Chairman stating it's 'his club'. The supporters 'crime' being not agreeing with the opinion of the Chairman Hellier, who has called himself the 'Saviour' of the club on social media.
Despite his claims, the club would again push for promotion this season to the football league, fans have seen little evidence of such in way of player recruitment, in fact with just three weeks to go, Manager Cooper had admitted he's still 2-3 players short for his squad but the club is no position to add players at the present time.
Off the pitch, Hellier, in his first season in charge, has courted controversy off the pitch on numerous occasions alienating supporters.
Hellier has threatened to kill supporters and their families, made racist comments, been in bar brawls with fans and gone as far as saying 'F@ck Your Club' whilst telling fans to 'Move on' as the club unretired the number 4 shirt, of former fans hero Lee Collins who suffered mental illness and sadly took his own life. He's also received from the FA a two match ban for storming onto the pitch to challenge a referee.
Now fans want Hellier out the club feeling he's disgraced the club and it's history as well as not fulfilling his initial promises.
Social media, where Hellier, is often found 'attacking supporters' before banning them, is awash with fans calling for him to leave the club. A recent poll held showed that over 90% of the club's fan base feel he's not fit and proper to run a football establishment.
The percentage rose dramatically recently after Hellier, was exposed for telling his former lover ' She was a callous evil bitch' whilst branding her a 'Whore' and hoped that she would 'Burn in hell 'before saying 'F@ck The Club'. He then went onto claim he was going to end his own life by committing suicide. Although he never went through with the claim and was present at the Football Club, yesterday for meetings.
Fans, away from the financial issues alone, clearly feel Hellier is in no fit mind to be at the helm any longer judging by the way he behaves in public and on social media.
Reports of Hellier's heavy drinking and class A drug abuse are rife amongst the small community with ex members of staff being sacked for making admissions to his personal issues, whilst it's understood media outlets are soon to release video evidence.
Although it's not clear in what direction the Football Club can go, Hellier is reported to have paid 'Over the odds' for the club which prevented Damien Singh ( Worth 100 million) taking the club on from former owner Scott Priestnall.
The stadium and surrounding land is now owned by the Council, which the club has the first option to buy back for in excess of 3 million GBP although with the club not even able to offer players contracts, looks extremely unlikely, whilst it's known property developers in London, with no desire for football are waiting in the wings to purchase on the council's deadline day. A council that itself, is strapped for cash and selling off assets.
To sell the club on, Hellier would have to take a large personal loss on his investment to attract a buyer only willing to pay for the club's worth, although clearly fed up fans of Hellier's actions want him out of the club.
A supporter of over 50 years told Yeovil Real News: ' Hellier bought our club for his own massive ego, whilst clearly not being able to afford to run it , he masked the first season with overspending whilst we played in a part time league, now he can't afford the National League - Whilst off the pitch he has totally disgraced himself and more importantly the club with his atrocious behaviour in public constantly.
'He has to go at whatever cost before he destroys the club forever'.
