NO LIGHTENING FORECAST FOR YEOVIL TODAY

Although overnight cottages with thatched roofs were struck in the neighbouring County of Dorset.

Over 50 firefighters worked through the night to contain a fire that broke out in Stoborough Meadow, Wareham, Dorset, on Sunday night.

According to the fire service, the blaze began in the roof of one semi-detached cottage and quickly spread to the adjoining home.

Although no one was injured, both properties suffered significant damage.
